Career
Bart Bosveld studied biology at the University of Groningen and in his early career he held positions as a biology teacher at high school and college and as researcher at the National Institute of Public Health and Environmental Protection (RIVM) in The Netherlands. In 1991 he was appointed as research associate at the Utrecht University where he studied the effects of organochlorins in fish-eating birds. After his PhD exam in 1995 he prolonged his affiliation to Utrecht University for a short period of time as an associate professor and then became affiliated to the Institute of Forestry and Nature Research in The Netherlands. Later, this institute merged into the research institute Alterra of the Wageningen University and Research Centre where he became head of the Ecotoxicology research team in 2001. Bart Bosveld published more than 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals (http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=bosveld+atc&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Search), as scientific reports (http://library.wur.nl/way/), or as contributions to international symposia.
SETAC Involvement
In March 2003 Bart Bosveld was appointed as Executive Director of SETAC Europe.
