Career
Almut Gerhardt graduated in Biology from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 1986 and received her PhD in aquatic ecotoxicology from the University of Lund, Sweden in 1995. Almut has held postdoctoral positions in South Africa and Portugal. Currently she is director of LimCo International, a consultancy and research institution specialised in environmental science, technology and education. She has published 45 scientific peer-reviewed papers and edited one text book. She has lectured in ecotoxicology and biomonitoring at universities in Sweden, Germany and Bolivia, currently at the universities of Bremen and Tübingen, Germany. She is external expert for the European Union. LimCo International is partner in several national and international research projects.
SETAC Involvement
Almut has been a SETAC member for 3 years. She has been session chair at several SETAC Europe and SETAC World Annual Meetings and convened a special issue of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry on metals. She is chair of the Membership Committee in the SEC and developed the bonus system, which runs on a trial in 2005.
