Career
Jussi Kukkonen is an ecotoxicologist with 18 years experience in the bioavailability and toxicity of organic pollutants. He was awarded a BSc, MSc and PhD in biology from the University of Joensuu, Finland in 1985, 1986 and 1992 respectively. He has held visiting scientist positions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA), Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (USA) and the Center for Industrial Research, (Norway). Jussi has been a faculty member of the Department of Biology, Joensuu University, Finland since 1991 and is currently Head of the Finnish Graduate School for Environmental Sciences and Technology, University of Joensuu. He has published over 120 scientific papers and is an editorial board member of Chemosphere, and the Journal of Soils and Sediments.
SETAC Involvement
Jussi Kukkonen has been an active SETAC member since 1994. He served on the Editorial Board of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry between 1999 and 2001 and 2003 and 2004.
